Traffic forecasts

Drivers should expect longer travel times, especially on sections where there are works.

From May 5 2025, every day between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., the road to Vršič will be closed due to works. Between 5 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., there will be alternating one-way traffic, with traffic lights.

On the A2 motorway, between May 5 and 7, traffic through the Karavanke tunnel will be carried one-way traffic every night between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Between the Malence and the Šmarje Sap junction towards Novo mesto, the motorway A2 will be closed (due to works in the Debeli hrib, Mali Vrh tunnels) during the night, between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., on the night of Thursday, Friday and Saturday ( May 7, 8, 9). Detour via the Ljubljana South connector, along the Ljubljana – Škofljica – Šmarje Sap regional road and via the Šmarje Sap connector to the motorway and vice versa.
