Traffic

On the Vipava expressway H4, traffic between Nanos and Vipava has already started running according to the new traffic arrangement.
Until mid-November:
➡️ traffic towards Nova Gorica will use a single lane,
➡️ traffic from Nova Gorica towards Razdrto will be diverted to the parallel regional road between the Vipava and Razdrto interchanges,
➡️ transit freight traffic from Italy will be redirected to the Fernetiči crossing.


On the Primorska highway, there will be a full closure at the Postojna interchange:  
- The exit from the direction of Koper to Postojna and the entrance from Postojna towards Koper are closed.  
On the southern bypass of Ljubljana, the exit at the Ljubljana center junction from the direction of Malence and Kozarje is closed. 


During the tourist season, there will be a traffic restriction for trucks with a maximum allowed weight over 7.5 tons until September 6:

On Saturdays:

- between 8 AM and 1 PM;

- on coastal roads between 6 AM and 4 PM.

On Sundays and holidays from 8 AM to 10 PM.

Gradual introduction of the new Entry/Exit System (EES) at the external Schengen border

On 12 October 2025, Slovenia and other EU countries will start implementing the Entry/Exit System (EES) at the external Schengen border, in accordance with Regulations (EU) 2017/2226 and 2025/1534. The new border management system will be introduced gradually, with full implementation by 10 April 2026. More at the source www.police.si.


Change in toll rates for the Karavanke Tunnel and exceptional transports

As of January 1, 2026, the toll for using the Karavanke Tunnel for vehicles with a maximum allowed weight of up to 3.5 tons will increase by 20 cents – from the current €8.80 to €9.00. More at the link dars.si.
