Routing application enables search for the most advantageous route from a given initial location to a given final location and passing a maximum of three given intermediate locations. Routing is limited to the territory of the Republic of Slovenia.

Description of the route may include a list of current events on the road (road closures, congestions etc.), and in case when the route also involves a motorway, the output contains a table to select the optimum method of toll payment. The devised description is suitable for printing.

Route planning is available on state and regional roads and only on some local (municipal) roads in Slovenia. In practice this means all roads in Slovenia marked on our map with yellow, orange or red. Local roads and streets are displayed, but it is not possible to apply route planning on them. If you select an address by the road on which route planning cannot be applied, the application will automatically search and find the nearest road on which route planning is possible.

Travel duration is calculated on the basis of the highest permitted speed on each road section, whereby potential delays due to heavy traffic, signal lights or congestions are not taken into account.
 

The route planning application has been moved to the fullscreen map of the Traffic Information centre for Public Roads.

1. Open the fullscreen map.

You have three route planning options.

First option:

2. Select the "Route planning" tab in the panel on the left side.

3. Right-click on the map. When a floating context menu appears, select the option [Routing >> Start]. Determine the end of the route in the same way and, optionally, a stop between the start and stop points.

Second option:

2a. Select the "Search" tab in the panel on the left side.

3a. Enter an address in the "Address" field, for example Celovška cesta xxx, Ljubljana, or only Ljubljana, and select the most suitable option among the offered options under the panel. The point will me marked on the map with a dialogue bubble, which will contain route planning options. You can determine in the same way both the start and stop point, and a via point. 

Third option:

2b. Right-click on the map. When a floating context menu appears, select either the “Nearest road” option or the “Nearest address” option.

3b. In addition to other information, the dialogue bubble will also display route planning options. You can determine in the same way both the start and end point, and a stop point.

4. Wait for the route to be drawn on the map. A route summary as well as the reverse route and switch between the shortest and fastest route will be displayed on the panel.
