Traffic forecast to 11 July 2019

Thursday, June 27, 2019 11:38:00 PM

The summer holidays have started in Slovenia, as well as across most of Europe, due to which the morning and afternoon peak hours during weekdays will shift to holiday peak hours on Friday afternoons in the direction of tourist destinations, and on Saturday mornings and Sundays in the opposite direction.

We expect increased traffic congestion at the following road sections:

  • between Šentilj and Gruškovje in the area between Ptuj and the Gruškovje border crossing, on Saturday 29 June from 4 a.m.
  • At the Ljubljana bypass from Šentvid, Koseze, and on towards Kozarje from Thursday onwards, the whole of Friday, while major congestion is expected on Saturday from 8 a.m.
  • Consequently, border crossings in Istria (Sečovlje, Dragonja, and Sočerga), and the two border crossings, Jelšane and Starod, will have the most traffic as of Thursday.
  • The road connection between Koper and the two border crossings, Dragonja and Sečovlje, will have some of the heaviest traffic in both directions.

Construction works in the following areas will also affect traffic flow:

  • Toll booths Lukovica
  • Prepolje
  • Kozina
  • Vransko.

Thank you very much in advance, and have a safe trip.
